Hazel’s Transitional Place is a women and children’s transitional home founded in 2019 while K Patrice Williams was running for Solano County Supervisor after seeing the housing and program needs of women and children in Solano County. Hazel’s Place is a SLE (sober living environment) which today houses and gives a second chance and shelter for ex offenders that need a foundation and a start.
Founder K. Patrice Williams said of Hazel’s Place, it’s a warm home I named after my mom as a safe space to rebuild your life. I know this home rebuilds because I have seen the highs and lows of life in this house from family soul foods, marrying my best friend to having our son. Lows included coming home from law school and laying across the carpet thinking I just couldn’t make it through, being so consumed by grief after the death of my mother that I almost lost the home to foreclosure. There is a beautiful tranquility to the house that saw me through my worst and allowed me to thrive. Today this house helps rebuild the hopes, dreams and thoughts of a house full of women.
K Patrice Williams has led an exemplary career, working as a public servant, community leader, and businesswoman. Ms. Williams holds a Juris Doctorate from the San Francisco Law School and she holds bachelors degrees in marketing and economics. She has held many titles including Chief Marketing Strategist, Adjunct Professor, and Director of Marketing, each of which has given her the opportunity to engage with unique individuals from every walk of life. Whether she is working with small local organizations or globally recognized brands, she brings the same level of passion and professionalism to every one of her endeavors.
Through extensive community partnerships, innovative community supervision and a commitment Hazel’s Tranquility Place is helping offenders succeed as they return to their communities. Live-in programs for offenders offer stable housing, family reunification and employment services. Hazel’s Tranquility Place was founded on compassion. Compassion for women of all ethnicities who have battled substance abuse and won. Hazel’s Tranquility Place provides the most vulnerable women a safe and supportive place to thrive towards stability and independence. Given the inextricable link between substance abuse and homelessness, our mission is to nurture and empower women to succeed and be a positive example to others in their position.
